Colorado Springs, Colo. By Tom Stanley

Having conquered the Lone Star State, we'll next journey northward (and upward) into the Rocky Mountains, meeting first with the unassuming town of Colorado Springs. This town is typically flush with a mix of tourists and a heavy population of Christian conservatives, perhaps with some overlap between the two. In our case, not so much.
But what's the point of our great adventure if not to explore new and different cultures? And with a setting like this, beneath the towering Pikes Peak and surrounded by interesting sites and geologic formations, we'll be far too enamored with the scenery to dwell on any kind of cultural divergences. A few of my friends from high school migrated out to this area for college and seem to be staying put there, so maybe we'll have a place to crash.
Otherwise, we've got a whole day to frolic around, and here's how we'll spend it.
